Her journey of self-discovery led her to delve deeper into the world of emotional intelligence, a
field that emphasizes the importance of recognizing, understanding, and managing our own
emotions as well as the emotions of others.
Tara’s exploration of emotional intelligence revealed to her the profound impact it could have on
fostering meaningful relationships and creating a sense of belonging within a community. She
understood that by helping individuals develop their emotional intelligence, she could bridge
gaps, resolve conflicts, and build stronger, more empathetic communities.
With this realization, Tara set out to create a program that would encapsulate her vision. Her
program, though ever-evolving, is anchored by the core mission of “being a good person and
understanding and contributing to your community.” This mission reflects Tara’s belief that true
personal growth and fulfillment come from not only improving oneself but also making a
positive impact on the world around us.
Tara, a mother of three, began her journey of self-discovery in late January 2023 when she made
the leap into sobriety headfirst. Overwhelmed by the world around her and driven by a strong
urge to make a change for others, she left her role in the public school system in February 2024.
Running on the fuel of hope and the desire to be better, she began making changes one step at a
time. Starting with creating a more positive life for herself and her children, she worked with
businesses and school systems throughout Massachusetts, focusing her efforts on connecting
individuals through her kickoff event “Sunset with a Stranger.” This initiative brought people
together, either in person or on Zoom, to hold space for one another in mindful conversations.
This event gave Tara the push she needed to look at her program in all different forms and
capacities and has since led to the creation and launch of her podcast “Elevated Learning
Experience,” where she discusses her trauma work, community work, meditation, and life
experiences. Throughout the summer, Tara spent her time visiting different areas in the
community, bringing food and water to the unhoused community, bringing her children along,
and creating conversations that opened the door for learning. She spent time traveling in a van
with her children to assist those affected by the tragic hurricanes, building and expanding her
mentoring program in her local community, which focuses on connecting children to children
and adults to children, allowing everyone to learn from each other.
Currently, Tara is working on her newest event in partnership with the Greater Gardner Chamber
of Commerce, which focuses on connecting the youth with nonprofits in the area, allowing the
youth in the community to debut their talents and connect with the nonprofits in the area. This
event teaches them how to network their talents to contribute to the community. “The Chamber of
Commerce has been everything for me. As a low-income single mom, I am still valuable; my
Time and services are valuable. Being a self-made business owner, it has been such an amazing
experience to not only be that voice for other people who are low income but also show my
children that even as a single mother on Section 8, you can make a difference if you use your
voice to help others,” says Tara.
So, what’s up next? Tara says she is allowing the universe to guide her in the next steps
“Elevated Learning Experience” will take. “Everything I do is ever flowing. I want to get my
hands on a little bit of everything. I have goals and hopes for where we will end up, but I am
letting opportunities take me wherever they choose, and in the meantime, I am networking,
practicing self-growth and awareness, and taking every opportunity as a learning/teaching
