Friday, February 2, 5:00 PM: Deadline to Apply for Driver’s Education Scholarships. Forty-five students in the Class of 2024 can receive a scholarship to pay for a driver’s education course this April. Details and application.
Worcester Public Schools is offering Driver’s Ed scholarships of $775 to 45 students in the Class of 2024.
*Recipients are responsible for paying an additional $259 for class and road test fees at registration.
Classes are through AAA Worcester Driving School.
Class 1: Monday to Friday 9:00am-3:30pm
Monday April 15, 2024-Friday April 19, 2024
Location: AAA Worcester Driving School 25 Mountain St. W, Worcester, MA
Class 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2:30pm-4:30pm
Tuesday April 30, 2024-Thursday May 30, 2024
Location: Worcester Technical High School, 1 Officer Manny Familia Way, Worcester, MA
Requirements:
- Must be Class of 2024 WPS student
- Must have a Learner’s Permit
- Must pay $259 fee within 14 days of lottery
- Must register for lottery by Friday February 2, 2024 at 5:00pm EST
Lottery Information:
- Recipients will be selected in a randomized lottery by high school in WPS.
- Students enrolled in career technical education will be prioritized within each school. (This is due to the nature of the financial grant that is funding the scholarships.)
