The Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden will open next week, according to Harpoon Brewing.

The beer garden will be located in Mercantile Plaza, between the Mercantile Center and the parking garage, in downtown Worcester. After getting clearance from the city’s License Commission on Thursday, the corporation now has the green light.

“We’ve recognized Worcester’s growth and vibrancy in recent years, and we are thrilled to activate Harpoon in this marquee location,” said Charlie Storey, president of Harpoon, in a statement. “The Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden will serve some of the world’s best beers to Worcester residents.”

Seating for around 250 people will be available, and the location will be open Thursday through Sunday this summer. Patrons can expect entertainment and outdoor games.

The beer garden will be operated by Reunion Tap and Table in North Grafton, which will also serve pretzels and other light fares.

The beer garden is the downtown area’s second, following the Worcester Beer Garden on Franklin Street, which opened for the summer on Wednesday.
