Authorities are investigating a relationship between a Massachusetts teacher and a student.

Authorities in Massachusetts have placed a teacher on leave as they investigate a possible inappropriate contact with a student.

Police in Barre and the Quabbin Regional School District acknowledged they were investigating but did not provide many specifics Friday, including the identity of the teacher who had been placed on leave.

According to the central Massachusetts school district, a complaint was filed this month, but more information could not be released due to confidentiality laws.

According to Barre Police Chief James Sabourin, the complaint concerns an inappropriate relationship with a single student, but no criminal charges are pending.
