Looking for dinner plans that feel good and do good? Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 19th, from 4PM to 11PM, because American Flatbread Worcester (85 Green St.) is teaming up with Rachel’s Table for a benefit night that’s all about food, family, and fighting hunger right here in our city.
Here’s how it works: whether you dine in with friends or grab a few flatbreads to go, every slice supports local families in need. During the event, American Flatbread will donate $3.50 for every large flatbread and $1.75 for every small one to Rachel’s Table, a nonprofit that’s been rescuing and redistributing food across Greater Worcester for more than 35 years.

Why it matters:
Rachel’s Table isn’t just feeding people; they’re tackling hunger and food waste all at once. Their team collects donated and specially purchased food and delivers it free of charge to over 30 shelters, pantries, and soup kitchens across Worcester. Since day one, they’ve distributed more than 14 million pounds of food to those who need it most.
And it doesn’t stop there. Through their Children’s Milk Fund, Rachel’s Table purchases at least 600 gallons of milk every week from a local dairy and distributes it to 20 different agencies in the city. It’s the only source of donated milk in the area, supporting the health and growth of local kids from low-income families.
As the cost of living continues to rise, from groceries to gas to housing, more and more families in Worcester are being forced to make heartbreaking choices between food, medicine, and heat. Rachel’s Table is stepping in to help, and now we can too.
