Looking for dinner plans that feel good and do good? Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 19th, from 4PM to 11PM, because American Flatbread Worcester (85 Green St.) is teaming up with Rachel’s Table for a benefit night that’s all about food, family, and fighting hunger right here in our city.

Here’s how it works: whether you dine in with friends or grab a few flatbreads to go, every slice supports local families in need. During the event, American Flatbread will donate $3.50 for every large flatbread and $1.75 for every small one to Rachel’s Table, a nonprofit that’s been rescuing and redistributing food across Greater Worcester for more than 35 years.

Why it matters:
Rachel’s Table isn’t just feeding people; they’re tackling hunger and food waste all at once. Their team collects donated and specially purchased food and delivers it free of charge to over 30 shelters, pantries, and soup kitchens across Worcester. Since day one, they’ve distributed more than 14 million pounds of food to those who need it most.

And it doesn’t stop there. Through their Children’s Milk Fund, Rachel’s Table purchases at least 600 gallons of milk every week from a local dairy and distributes it to 20 different agencies in the city. It’s the only source of donated milk in the area, supporting the health and growth of local kids from low-income families.

As the cost of living continues to rise, from groceries to gas to housing, more and more families in Worcester are being forced to make heartbreaking choices between food, medicine, and heat. Rachel’s Table is stepping in to help, and now we can too.

🗣 Here’s What the Community Is Saying About Rachel’s Table

Rachel’s Table isn’t just delivering food—they’re delivering hope, dignity, and real support to families across Worcester. Don’t just take it from us—here’s what local partners had to say:

“Our partnership with Rachel’s Table is vital in helping us fulfill our program mission and best serve families.”
— Joel D. Wallen, Associate Executive Director, Pernet Family Health Service (Feb 24, 2025)

“The food that Rachel’s Table provides is critical to our young mothers to help them support their children and to focus on improving their future.”
— Amaireny Jose, Florence House, Worcester, MA (Jan 4, 2025)

“Simply put, your continued support of our programs is truly an inspiration of hope and a wonderful example of what The Salvation Army mission represents—‘Doing the Most Good’ that helps to transform lives.”
— Jorman Perez, The Salvation Army (Feb 13, 2025)

“Programs like the Rachel’s Table Milk Fund foster a sense of community and support for those who are in need, demonstrating a collective commitment to health and well-being.”
— Jorman Perez, The Salvation Army (Feb 13, 2025)

💬 These words reflect what Rachel’s Table stands for—connection, compassion, and community care. On August 19th, you can be part of that story. Come hungry. Leave inspired.
