Shrewsbury AMSA student chosen for 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholar

SHREWSBURY — Aryan Kumar, a Shrewsbury high school senior at the Advanced Math and Science Academy, has been chosen as a U.S. Presidential Scholar for 2022.

According to a recent news release from the US Department of Education, Kumar was one of 161 seniors chosen by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars out of more than 5,000 hopefuls this year.

The Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, seeks to recognize and reward “some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.”

Students that succeed in artistic, creative, and performing arts, as well as technical education, are also recognized.
