We hit the streets, pulled up to cookouts, stopped into corner stores, and slid into DMs to ask, How are people really feeling about Worcester right now?

The Vibe on Safety
Let’s start with the big one: public safety. Some folks feel like certain neighborhoods just aren’t the same after dark. “You can’t even walk to the bodega without looking over your shoulder,” said one resident from the East Side. Others pointed out that a lot of the issues are tied to deeper stuff—like poverty, lack of opportunity, and not enough support for youth.

“I don’t need more police I need more programs for these kids,” said a mother of two from Bell Hill.

“This city raised me,” said a barber raised in the Millbury Street area. “I just want to see it take care of its people the same way.”
