City Seeks Proposals for Union Station Grand Hall, Restaurant Space and Patio Operations

The City of Worcester has launched a request for proposals for a new operator at Union Station’s Grand Hall, restaurant and commissary space, and outdoor patio.
The Worcester Redevelopment Authority is seeking proposals from qualified individuals, companies, or organizations to lease approximately 15,535 square feet of space on the first floor of Union Station, located at 10 Washington Square.
The available space includes the Grand Hall banquet and conference facility, restaurant and commissary space, and an outdoor patio area.
Union Station includes about 100,000 square feet of total space, with approximately 50,000 square feet considered leasable. The historic building includes a 2,700-square-foot Rotunda and a restored Grand Hall measuring approximately 9,180 square feet, which has been used for special occasions, functions, and conferences.
According to the city, the RFP includes the lease of the Grand Hall event operations, approximately 6,130 square feet of restaurant and commissary space, and about 225 square feet of outdoor patio space.
The opportunity is open to prospective proposers who are capable of meeting the objectives and requirements outlined in the RFP.
Proposals are due to the Worcester Redevelopment Authority at City Hall, Room 402, 455 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608, no later than Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Property tours with a WRA representative are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10 a.m.
The RFP comes as the city continues to look at how Union Station’s historic spaces can be used for events, business activity, and public-facing services.
