If you want to be the “MVP” team parent or coach this spring, the Worcester Red Sox are giving you the ultimate assist. The Central MASScots are officially looking for their 2026 travel schedule, and your Little League could be their next stop.

The WooSox have launched a Little League Mascot Appearance Giveaway, offering local youth leagues the chance to win a professional mascot appearance for their 2026 Opening Day ceremonies.

Meet the Lineup

These aren’t just mascots; they are Worcester icons with deep ties to our city’s history and heart. If your league wins, you could be hosting:

  • Smiley Ball: The face of the franchise, inspired by the iconic smiley face created right here in Worcester by Harvey Ball.
  • Woofster the Wonderdog: The team’s lovable rescue pup who champions kindness and compassion.
  • Roberto the Rocket: Named after Worcester native Robert Goddard (the father of modern rocketry) and wearing #21 in honor of the legendary Roberto Clemente.
  • Clara the Heart of the Commonwealth: A tribute to first responders named after Oxford native Clara Barton, the founder of the American Red Cross.

How to Enter

The process is simple, but the deadline is approaching. To enter your league, a coach, administrator, or team parent needs to complete the official Mascot Appearance Survey.

The WooSox Foundation has a long history of supporting “Diamond Sports” across New England. From their Diamond Sports Series to free clinics at Beaver Brook, the team continues to find ways to get kids excited about the game. Having the MASScots show up to high-five your players and take photos is a guaranteed way to make your league’s Opening Day unforgettable.

Why It Matters

Local Little Leagues are the backbone of the Worcester sports community. Whether you are with Jesse Burkett, Ted Williams, or any of the surrounding town leagues, this is a rare opportunity to bring the “Polar Park” atmosphere to your local sandlot without dipping into the league’s equipment budget.

Ready to bring the WooSox home? Don’t wait until the schedule is full. Submit your entry today and make sure your league is in the running for the biggest guest stars in Central Mass.
