WORCESTER — There’s a new way to beat the heat in the city this summer. The City of Worcester is cutting the ribbon on its newest community splash space, the University Spray Park, on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
Located at 44 Gates Street, this brand-new spray park is a welcome addition for families and kids looking for safe, free, and fun ways to cool off during the hottest months.
The ribbon cutting will include remarks from City Manager Eric D. Batista, District 4 City Councilor Luis Ojeda, and Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Commissioner Robert Antonelli, Jr., all of whom played key roles in bringing the project to life.
This project is part of the city’s broader effort to invest in neighborhood parks, green spaces, and community wellness. It’s not just about water features; it’s about building joy and access into the fabric of every Worcester neighborhood.
So bring your kids, bring your sunscreen, and come celebrate a fresh new space to play and stay cool right in the heart of the city.
