On the evening of October 18th, 2024, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers executed a search warrant at a Queen Street apartment, leading to a significant drug and firearm bust. Around 4:50 PM, officers entered the residence, detaining several individuals inside the apartment. A search of the premises uncovered a large quantity of substances believed to be fentanyl and powder cocaine, along with a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia—clear indicators of drug distribution activities.
In addition to the drugs, officers discovered three handguns and multiple rounds of ammunition. The primary suspect, 25-year-old Jalfrin Nicacio, was arrested at the scene. Nicacio does not possess a license to carry firearms, making his possession of the weapons illegal. He now faces numerous charges, including:
- Trafficking in Fentanyl over 200 Grams
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
- 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
- 3 counts of Improper Storage of a Firearm
- 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Worcester law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade and reduce gun-related crimes in the community. With the continued rise of fentanyl-related overdoses, this bust marks a critical win in the fight against dangerous narcotics.
