The Queen’s Cups Is Closing Its Doors After 13 Years

A heartfelt goodbye from a dreamer who gave Worcester something sweet and something real.

WORCESTER— It’s with a heavy heart that The Queen’s Cups has announced it will officially close on Sunday, June 29th. After 13 years of pouring her heart into this dream, owner Renee Diaz is saying goodbye—not because she wants to, but because sometimes life calls for a different kind of strength.

In an emotional message shared with customers, Renee opened up about what the last few years have really looked like: taking on crushing debt, sacrificing her peace, and pushing herself beyond the limit just to keep the doors open.

“I’ve sacrificed my health, my peace, and time with my family to chase this dream,” she wrote. “And as much as I wanted to end it on my own terms, sometimes life just doesn’t work that way.”

This Was Never Just a Job

For Renee, The Queen’s Cups wasn’t just a business—it was her life. She kept pushing for her team, her dad who stood beside her, and her customers who became like family. Most of all, she did it for her mom, who believed in her even when she didn’t believe in herself.

And now, after everything she’s given, she’s making the difficult decision to step away—not because the love is gone, but because her family deserves more than what’s left of her.

“This wasn’t their dream—it was mine,” Renee shared. “I feel heartbroken, embarrassed, and deeply grateful all at once.”

Business Continues—For Now

The Queen’s Cups will remain open through Sunday, June 29th, and Renee asks for patience as the team navigates this transition. The news is just as shocking for the staff as it is for the community that’s grown to love them.

“I don’t know who I am without this place yet. But I do know how lucky I am to have built something that makes goodbye so hard.”

To everyone who ever stood in line, celebrated a milestone, or just needed a little sweetness on a tough day—thank you. From Renee. From her team. And from a dream that was lived out loud for 13 unforgettable years.
