Meryl’s Safe Haven will hold its third annual Rent Party Fundraiser this evening, Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The event takes place at The White Room located at 138 Green Street in the Canal District. This year’s fundraiser features a Roaring Twenties theme and is designed to support young adults who are transitioning out of the foster care system.
The organization focuses on serving individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 who have aged out of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) care. According to state data, hundreds of young people age out of the foster care system in Massachusetts each year, often facing immediate challenges with housing and resource insecurity. Meryl’s Safe Haven aims to provide the foundation necessary for these young adults to move toward self-sustainability.

Since its founding, the organization has expanded its reach. In March 2025, the group placed its first two young adults in stable housing through its Transitional Youth Empowerment Program. The organization also hosts monthly community meals to connect its residents with the broader Worcester community.

Meryl’s Safe Haven addresses this local need by providing transitional housing, financial literacy programs, and workforce development support.
