Light It Up, Worcester: Teen Crafternoon Brings Pressed Flower Lanterns to the Frances Perkins Library Branch

What’s up Worcester teens? If you’re looking for something creative, chill, and a little bit artsy this summer, we’ve got the perfect Friday afternoon plan for you.

On Friday, July 11 from 3:30–4:30pm, the Frances Perkins Branch of the Worcester Public Library is turning the FPB Meeting Room into a DIY dream zone for Teen Crafternoon – Pressed Flower Lanterns. And no, you don’t need to be an art major or Pinterest pro to get in on this.

Open to youth ages 12 to 18, this free event gives teens a chance to craft their very own pressed flower lantern, complete with a battery-powered tea light to bring the glow home. Whether you’re into wildflowers or just vibing with the aesthetic, the library’s got a wide selection of dried flowers to choose from. Think cozy cottagecore meets local creativity.

No experience is needed, and all supplies are provided—just bring yourself and your imagination. It’s a great way to unwind, meet other teens, and flex your creative side without spending a dime.
