The City of Worcester is promoting several programs aimed at supporting small businesses, legacy enterprises, and minority- and women-owned firms, with key deadlines and rolling opportunities currently in play.
Downtown Small Business Grant Program
The City of Worcester’s Business and Community Development Division administers a Small Business Grant Program that uses federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support eligible small businesses in the downtown and other targeted commercial areas. M/WBE Construction Advancement Grant Program
In addition, Worcester is continuing to accept applications for its M/WBE Construction Advancement Grant Program, which supports minority- and women-owned construction-related businesses based in the city. The program provides grants generally ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 to help eligible firms build capacity, strengthen operations, and cover specific business expenses tied to growth.
Awards are typically capped as a share of the business’s annual expenses, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all available funds are committed.
