The Greater Worcester Community Foundation has awarded more than $1 million to nonprofits across Worcester County to support housing, food access, healthcare, and immigrant services as demand continues to rise.

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation announced the distribution of $1,045,000 to nonprofits across Worcester County to support essential services including housing, food access, healthcare, and immigrant support.

According to the Foundation, the funding comes from two anonymous donors outside the region who made contributions in response to recent federal funding cuts and policy changes affecting social services.

“We are thrilled to be able to make these investments at a time when nonprofits are particularly stretched,” said Pete Dunn, President and CEO of the Foundation.

$200,000 to CMHA: The Housing Alliance
$100,000 to RCAP Solutions

Food Security

$115,000 to expand the Foundation’s Fund to End Hunger

Healthcare

$130,000 to support services through the Worcester Free Care Collaborative

$125,000 to Friendly House
$25,000 to Spanish American Center

Resiliency Services

$175,000 to Worcester Community Action Council
$100,000 to Making Opportunity Count
$25,000 to South Middlesex Opportunity Council
