Attleboro Road Rage Turns Violent: Woman Body-Slammed After Minor Car Crash
ATTLEBORO, MA– What began as a minor car accident escalated into a terrifying, violent encounter that left a woman fearing for her life. Friday morning, at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 1A in Attleboro, a seemingly routine traffic mishap quickly spiraled into an attack that would leave a mother of two in critical condition.
The incident unfolded shortly before 9 a.m. when Hailea Soares, the driver of a car, accidentally rear-ended another vehicle. The crash was minor, but it set off a chain of events that would soon take a devastating turn.
Witnesses say the man behind the wheel of the other vehicle, 26-year-old Gladior Kwesiah of Pawtucket, was enraged. He approached Soares’ car, banging on the roof before yanking her out of the vehicle. As the argument between the two escalated, Soares tried to walk away, urging Kwesiah to leave her alone. But that wasn’t the end.
In an act of shocking aggression, Kwesiah allegedly picked up Soares and, without warning, body-slammed her to the ground. A witness, horrified by the violence, began recording the confrontation. It wasn’t long before the brutal assault was caught on camera.
As Soares found herself in the air, she said her mind raced with fear. “The only thing that I could think of was that I knew I was in the air, and by the time I realized I was in the air, I thought to myself, like, I might die right now; I had already hit the ground,” Soares recalled. The moment she landed, everything went black, and she felt a strange sensation on her face. “I realized I was on the ground, and I rolled over, and there was blood dripping all over my hands.”
When police arrived at the scene, they found Soares lying in the street, bleeding heavily from a head wound. She was immediately rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where doctors discovered she had sustained a broken knee, a broken foot, an injury to her eye socket, and a serious skull injury.
The shocking violence was a direct result of road rage, with Kwesiah’s explosive temper turning a simple traffic accident into a near-deadly assault. Police quickly apprehended Kwesiah, who now faces serious charges for his role in the attack.
Soares, a mother of two young children, is now recovering, but her injuries have left her shaken. “I might die right”now”—those words still echo in her mind as she contemplates the terrifying ordeal she survived. As she fights to heal, her story serves as a reminder of how quickly everyday interactions can escalate into life-threatening violence.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and Kwesiah is expected to face charges in the coming days. The witness who filmed the assault provided crucial evidence in the case, helping law enforcement to piece together the brutal sequence of events.
As Soares begins her journey to recovery, her family and the community rally behind her, offering support and hoping for justice in the aftermath of this senseless act of aggression.
