Trail Blazers come back to defeat Spurs

Tuesday night, the Portland Trail Blazers came from behind to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 117-110 behind 29 points from Jerami Grant.

Damian Lillard had 22 points, 11 assists, while Anfernee Simons contributed 23 points.

For San Antonio, Jakob Poeltl scored a career-high 31 points. He made 14 of 17 field goal attempts.
Grant scored 19 points in the opening period. He scored an additional 10 points in the third period to help Portland lead 93-89 going into the fourth.
With 10:55 remaining, Poeltl’s basket provided the Spurs a 94-93 advantage, which they later increased to six points on several occasions.With 4:21 remaining, a basket by Simons made it 106-104 following a layup by Drew Eubanks
that had brought the score to 106-102. With 3:57 remaining,
Portland regained the lead at 107-106 thanks to Eubanks’ 3-point play after Keldon Johnson’s turnover on the following Spurs possession. Eubanks contributed nine points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes of relief work.
Portland now leads 110-106 thanks to Lillard’s steal, which also produced a 3-pointer.

Portland arrived home after a road trip in which they went 4-2, including two victories at the final horn. Jusuf Nurkic, the starting center for the Blazers, made his comeback following a three-game layoff due to a thigh injury. In 15 minutes, he finished with nine points and five rebounds.
