WORCESTER, Mass. — What’s Up Worcester caught up with Samara Tang-Rainwater, Worcester’s 15-year-old youth poet laureate, at the second annual Black Excellence Celebration on October 2.
A sophomore at Doherty Memorial High School, Tang-Rainwater is involved in student leadership beyond her poetry. She serves as vice president of Women Empowerment, is a member of the Black Student Union, and serves as treasurer of the school’s robotics club.
Jacqueline Monteiro of Women Strong Recovery hosted the interview as part of What’s Up Worcester’s coverage of the celebration.
