WORCESTER, MA — Porter and Chester Institute will mark 80 years of career training with an anniversary event at its Worcester campus on Tuesday, September 1.
The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the institute’s campus at 220 Brooks Street. According to Porter and Chester Institute, the celebration will include students, staff, graduates, employers, community members and local partners.
Worcester City Councilor Tony Economou, who represents District 1, is expected to attend as an honorary guest, according to the institute.

Bologa will also present an 80th anniversary plaque to Petritis recognizing the Worcester campus and its continued operation, according to the announcement.
Following the ceremony, guests will be invited to have cake and light refreshments, meet members of the campus community and take part in a group tour of the Worcester campus.
Porter and Chester Institute was founded 80 years ago and provides career-focused education and hands-on training, according to the institute. Its programs cover fields including skilled trades, transportation and healthcare.
