Make Music Day Worcester Brings Free Performances Across the City
Citywide event included music at public spaces, local businesses, and community gathering places

By Jerry Filmore
WORCESTER, Mass. , Make Music Day Worcester returned on Sunday, June 21, with free live music scheduled across the city at public spaces, businesses, libraries, plazas, and neighborhood gathering areas.
According to a City of Worcester announcement, the Worcester Arts Council invited residents and visitors to take part in the all-day celebration, which included more than 30 artists and performers at 10 locations throughout Worcester. The event was part of the international Make Music Day movement, held in more than 1,000 cities worldwide.
What’s Up Worcester documented portions of the citywide event. W.U.W. was not able to attend every scheduled performance, so this recap does not confirm that every listed performer appeared. Instead, the artist lineup is being reported as scheduled in official event materials.
The official event schedule listed performances at several locations, including the Worcester Public Library, Brussels Street Market, DCU Center, Francis R. Carroll Plaza, Clark University, Husky’s Pub, The Grove Village, and Vintage Grille and Gourmet Pizza.

At the DCU Center, event materials listed performances by Mister Motivation, J. Jordan, Michael Kae, and Glowmanny. The DCU Center Arena Plaza was promoted as one of the event locations from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Other scheduled performers listed in event materials included Crocodile River Music, DJWhizPK, Paul Wykes, James Joyce, Julie Dolphin, The Zach and Lyndsey Show, Heather Holland, Internet Famous, Post Road Chorus, Evil Felipe, Jay Sully, Charles Ketter, Patrice Peros Voice Studios, and The Ghosts We Carry.
The City of Worcester announcement said the event was supported by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and involved local artists, cultural organizations, businesses, and community partners. Event materials also included the Worcester Cultural Coalition, the City of Worcester, and Worcester Arts Council.
Why It Matters
Make Music Day Worcester gave residents a free way to experience live music in familiar local spaces. Instead of centering the event in one venue, the schedule spread performances across different parts of the city, making music available at libraries, plazas, restaurants, markets, and public gathering areas.
For Worcester residents, events like this can help connect neighborhoods, support local artists, and bring people into shared public spaces. The event also gave families and residents a no-cost opportunity to take part in arts and culture on the first day of summer.
Because the event has already passed, residents looking for future Make Music Day updates should follow official announcements from the City of Worcester, Worcester Arts Council, Worcester Cultural Coalition, and Make Music Day Worcester.
