In an unexpected turn of events, a routine traffic stop became a hazardous situation for Shrewsbury Police Officer Tim Charland on the Boston Turnpike. The incident occurred at 9:15 p.m. on January 12, when a Chevy Malibu collided with Officer Charland’s parked cruiser, causing significant damage and leaving both the officer and the Malibu’s driver with minor injuries.
According to CBS Boston, Officer Charland had just completed a traffic stop and was inside his cruiser when the collision took place. The passenger was identified as 24-year-old Christian George of Worcester, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for destruction of property from the Milford District Court.
